Solid red blankets first appeared in the 18th century. Red was preferred by the Coast and Interior Salish First Nations in the Pacific Northwest. One of the Standard Colours offered in the 20th century, the scarlet blanket has long been one of the most popular colours after the multistripe. The scarlet blanket is unique in that it is actually woven as a white blanket and is overdyed afterwards. Double, 4 points (72" X 90")
